MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST HOTELS, FLIGHTS AND MORE

Planning Your Vacation to the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Whatever you are seeking for your next vacation – a relaxing getaway at a luxury resort or a budget-friendly road trip for weekend – the Mississippi Gulf Coast is sure to fit the bill. The area is strategically located between New Orleans, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama, and is easily accessible by air and car. The most appealing feature? As the cost of family vacations continues to rise, the Mississippi Gulf Coast still remains an affordable travel destination.

With nearly 13,000 rooms, our remarkably diverse array of hotels ensures that all visitors can enjoy the perfect vacation for their budget—and their dreams. The Mississippi Gulf Coast offers everything from luxurious casino resorts, quaint bed & breakfasts, and high class or budget-friendly hotel rooms. Some facilities even offer pet-friendly accommodations and airport shuttle services.

It doesn’t matter if you live in the next state or across the country, getting here is relatively easy. From the north, two major interstates, I-55 and I-59, intersect with State Highway 49, which will take you directly into Gulfport. From the east and west, several major interstates connect directly to I-10 or US Highway 90 – the two major thoroughfares in the area.

If flying is your preferred mode of transportation, the  Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport offers all the amenities of a larger metropolitan airport without the hassle of long wait times for check-in and security checkpoints. The airport is serviced by five commercial airlines that offer non-stop service to five major cities in addition to connecting to over 2,000 flights throughout the United States and the world.

Once you land, you’ll need to find a way to get from the airport to your final destination. You can rent a car right at the airport or hail a cab. The Coast Transit Authority also offers nine bus routes that will take you just about anywhere you need to go within the three coastal counties. Fares are inexpensive and visitors can choose to pay as they go or purchase daily or 3-day unlimited ride passes.
You can’t make a trip to the South and not expect to eat delicious food. Lucky for you, the Mississippi Gulf Coast has some of the best restaurants in the area. We have numerous award-winning fine dining restaurants, casual diners, exceptional barbecue, and unique Cajun and Creole-inspired fare. And don’t forget to try the fresh seafood!

Finally, why not round out your trip with a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.  The Mississippi Gulf Coast has everything from boutiques, factory outlet stores, shopping malls, gift shops, and antiques.  Buy something special for yourself or take home a handcrafted souvenir to remind you of your trip.
