Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership
Blessed by its geographic location on the central Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi Gulf Coast offers an authentic, unique experience with its blend of natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities; mild climate; the nation’s third largest gaming market; multiple golf courses designed by premier names in the industry; modern museums and cultural offerings; meeting and convention facilities; and a wide array of accommodation options ranging from luxury resorts to high-rise condos to quaint bed and breakfasts.
The Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership (GCRTP) is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit organization created in 2011 to provide professional, coordinated tourism marketing and development support for the three counties that make up the Mississippi Gulf Coast (Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties). GCRTP is led by a 15-member board of directors who were appointed by each of the three counties and the Gulf Coast Business Council. Funding for GCRTP was initially provided by a tourism grant from BP. The goal of the Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership is to develop a regional Destination Marketing Organization representing all three counties comprising the Mississippi Gulf Coast and to develop a strategic plan for the region’s tourism growth; establish ambitious and measurable goals; provide funding for advertising, research and event marketing; and track results.
